Metal Garage Door Insulation

Metal garage door insulation is available in kits. The kits contain enough material to cover one metal garage door and all the necessary products to install the insulation properly. Some of the kits also include the garage door threshold and foam for sealing the edges of the door.

When choosing garage door insulation there are several choices including Styrofoam insulation, fiberglass insulation, and foiled bubble insulation. Bubble insulation for the garage door is covered by a reflective foil backing on both sides and is very easy to install. For that reason many people prefer the foil back bubble insulation. Often the foiled bubble insulation is adhesive backed so it simply sticks on the garage door panels similar to the way you would install contact paper.

There are several advantages to using foil bubble insulation on a metal garage door. The material itself is much safer to humans and pets than fiberglass garage door insulation. Additionally, since foil material is on both sides of double layered bubble wrap, temperatures are reflected on the inside as well as the outside. So, the garage will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
