Crafting Your Fall and Halloween Decor

Wouldn’t it be simply criminal to ignore all that wonderful fall foliage? Perhaps that’s why we so often decorate our homes for this beautiful season, making them as warm and friendly in preparation for the holiday season. But before Thanksgiving and Christmas comes Halloween; the good news here is that since Halloween these days is all about children, you can safely abandon formality and craft your own hand made halloween decor this year.

And that simple decision can lead to many happy hours spent with card and glue, flowers, pumpkins and fabric, but don’t keep the fun to yourself. The idea is to craft with the rest of the family; having fun is what’s it all about, and if someone is around to record the process, then there’s even more crafting fun to be had later, when you make a scrapbook from the pictures.

From homemade Halloween treat bags to super scary centerpieces, Halloween decor is, above all, fun. Taking it seriously and aiming for perfection is to miss the point. Hand made isn’t perfect, for that you need a machine, and machiens make thousands. What you want is your own, personal, imperfect Halloween decoration, beautifully made because it was made by you.
