Buying a garden shed from a store is quick & easy, but it’s not as satisfying as building your own.Making it yourself means it can be any size you require to meet your needs.Of course when taking on a job like this everything has to be planned out in advance to make sure it all falls into place.
Location is the first thing to take into consideration, make sure its not too large & close to a neighbours fence as you don’t want to upset them.If your planning on using your shed as a workshop with a workbench & cupboards, try to position the shed so it receives the most daylight as possible & also remember you may want to add power to the building so try & position it where power can easily be added.
Visit your local timber/lumber yard & choose the best treated pieces you can find,as some lengths may be warped or cracked. If you don’t really have an idea about how to plan your shed, visit a home & garden store & simply take some measurements along with photographs of some of the sheds on display. There is also a lot more advice on building a shed by following the link.I have personally built 3 sheds now & I am really pleased with the results, remember to take your time as its not a sprint, plan it out & you should have a shed that lasts for years to come.
