As a plumber of many years experience I thought that I had seen most uses that people could put their heating systems to but I have to admit that this week I found yet a new one. I had a call from a builder friend of mine who I occasionally do work for when the guy he employs is away, asking if I could fit in a little job on a new build that he was working on. I was surprised to see that this new build, upmarket home, was to use cast iron baseboard radiators coupled with a deep bore hot water supply. Apparently cast iron radiator heaters installed with this arrangement are becoming increasingly popular in both renovation and new builds as once the initial cost has recovered the home benefits from pretty much perpetual, free, green energy. It is certainly something to consider if you may be in the market for a replacement heating system in the near future, what with the rise in energy costs seen in recent years.
