Bed Bug Management – Needs to be controlled
Current affairs program was running and showing how bed bugs pest control was not being followed in hotels. It got my interest straight away as the hotel manager was literally calling the hotel guest’s liars and scammers and were only after free accommodation and that is why they were complaining.
This was clearly not the case as the people who had complained to no avail rolled up sleeves and pulled up tops to reveal some angry raised welts that they said that they didn’t have before putting their head down to sleep.
The situations were nearly identical where the travelers had been travelling for sometime on international flights and were exhausted and all that they wanted was some dinner, hot bath and to jump into their bed. They had only been in bed for about 15 minutes and could feel that they had been bitten not once but several times.
Bed bugs come out of their hiding places at night, as they are hungry and looking to gorge themselves on your blood. This process takes approximately 10 minutes. They are guided where their meal is by the carbon monoxide on your breath. So not to wake you they will use a little bit of anesthetic so you will not feel a thing until the anesthetic has worn off and you start to scratch.
There are some people who really get an allergic reaction to the bites and are left with ugly raised welts where not one but several bed bugs have enjoyed a meal at your expense.
What can you do when you go to a hotel? First leave your bag in another room as bedbugs can be already have travelled on your luggage. Next pull back the covers of your bed before jumping in and look at the seam of the mattress it self and check the bed head, as they are known to assemble.
Do complain if your voice is not heard write negative reports on travel sites and hope this will be enough for the management to take action. Pest control Canberra is a must if you want to stop an infestation.
