Beneficial Insects for your Garden

Praying Mantis and Lady Bugs are one of the most effective answers for folks who do not want to utilize harmful chemicals in their gardening in order to control insect pests. These insects are by far some of the best predator insects. Praying Mantis and Lady Bugs can co-exist quite happily as the Praying Mantises do not consume Lady Bugs. It as mother nature designed it that way!

Praying Mantis eggs are generally available from January through April (or while supplies last). The hatching period is in the spring months, earlier in the warmer Southern states, and as late as June in the Northern United States. The eggs hatch out when the climate gets warm and their insect prey becomes accessible.

Live Ladybugs are available from March to November and are voracious predators of several garden insect pests. These little guys are cute and do not scare very young children as a Praying Mantis might possibly.

Beneficial nematodes are also available anytime of the year!
